Service Selection Board
To assess the overall personality and IQ level of a candidate appearing for the selection in Armed Forces, an interview is conducted by Services Selection Board. The procedure of the SSB interview is quite complicated and demands an advanced level of mental and physical fitness. For five days, the candidates are grilled through various time-bounded tasks. By analyzing the potential of the aspirant, the best of the people are selected who can serve the nation.
The primary motive of Service Selection Board process is to find out the brightest candidates who possess the qualities that are essential to own a tag as an officer in the army of our nation. Aspirants need to pass three hurdles to qualify for this challenge. An emergency-like situation is created for the candidates to judge whether they can handle the stress or not.
Let’s have a look at the three types of tests that a candidate has to go through:
- Psychological Round: It is conducted by an expert psychologist to assess the mental alertness of the person.
- Group Obstacle Test (GTO): Different activities are conducted on the ground to check the ability of a candidate to deal with members of a group.
- Interview Round: Various aspects of the personality of an individual are analyzed and judged in an interview conducted by the President. The question can be general or based on some situations.
The above-mentioned rounds are organized and evaluated separately by Service Selection Board – SSB Interview.
